About Founder
Dorothy Xiao (Founder / Creative Director) is a first-generation Chinese American filmmaker with a Psychology degree from UCLA and over a decade of filmmaking experience. Before launching Rabby Films, she worked for the nonprofit organizations Visual Communications and Brave New Films, gaining firsthand insight into how mission-driven teams share their impact.
Her work spans more than 30 film and video projects for organizations of all sizes, from grassroots nonprofits to major brands like CBS, HBO, and Disney. She has directed several award-winning short films, including COLORFUL MINDS, which helped secure a $75,000 grant for the nonprofit Painted Brain.
Dorothy brings a unique blend of nonprofit understanding, cinematic craft, and industry versatility to every project, helping clients amplify their voices, inspire action, and connect with the audiences that matter most.
